Though luxury brands are beginning to release green cars, traditional ultra-performance automobiles are still readily available for people who have the disposable funds. The male who has the cash to purchase a McLaren has the cash to spend more for gas.
McLaren driving faster than Bugatti
In 2014, McLaren will have a new car to debut that it is working on, AutoWeek reports. McLaren is a race automobile company. The MP4-12C was released by the company known for releasing the fastest road car in the world, the F1. The next project for McLaren will be an as yet unnamed car that will feature a 5-liter engine that will produce nearly 800 horsepower. The automobile is projected to go from 0 to 200 miles per hour faster than the Bugatti Veyron, go from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds and cost more than $500,000.

In order to get a new Corvette, General Motors is putting $131 million into getting a better version of Chevrolet's sports car adding about 250 new jobs, reports CNN. The new Corvette won't be ready for release for a few years, but the new positions will open soon at the GM plant in Bowling Green, Ky., where the Corvette has been produced since 1981. Right now there isn't a release date or information on the car has been released. The name ZL1 Camaro is a new Camaro Chevrolet is coming out with. Popular Mechanics states it won't be accessible until 2012 though. The ZL1 will have the same 6.2L V-8 that comes in the Cadillac CTS-V, which produces more than 550 horsepower.

Performance automobile makers are concerned about the environment a little bit, although the vehicles that come from these automakers do not generally concern themselves with the environment. To be able to produce a "green" McLaren, the automaker is hoping to get some hybrid car engineers. USA Today reports that Porsche is selling its 918 Spyder right now. This is a plug-in hybrid that can go three more miles than the plug-in Prius hybrid coming out on just electric power, can go from 0 to 60 in 3.1 seconds and tops out at 199 miles per hour. The vehicle also has great mileage. Its mileage is 78 miles per gallon typically. Ferrari unveiled a hybrid version of the 599 last year and intends to have hybrid versions of all of its vehicles by 2015, according to the Daily Mail. The 599 HY-KERS is the name of the automobile that can get up to 25 miles per hour while going 200 miles in one hour of driving. It has the same V-12 motor too. By 2015, Lamborghini plans to have a hybrid out. It declared this in 2009, Popular Science reports. All the cars are going green now.
